I am a Form 3 student at Alam Shah Science School in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. I am learning Korean as a foreign language through the school curriculum. I have so many special memories from learning Korean. I was very eager to learn about Korea. I really enjoy studying Korean. The letters (Hangeul) and the sentence structure are very unique to me. Instead of saying "Jichan eats apple," you say "Jichan apple eats." That special order, different from English, made me think that Korean is very cool and all Korean people are very clever and creative thinkers. Sometimes, I had to struggle with difficult and complicated grammar. It made me feel very weary but I had to get over the hump and chase my dream of becoming a fluent Korean speaker. So I chose to learn Korean in my own way by concentrating on Korean culture such as K-pop which is very attractive to me.

Recently, my Korean teacher, Miss Yu-mi Lee, made a display of students' calligraphy artworks and poems in celebration of Hangeul Day. All of the calligraphy artworks and poems were made by students who learn Korean. Miss Yu-mi Lee also made a booth for all students to come and explore the display and get some freebies such as fans and calligraphy cards. It was a very stylish and cool display. I was filled with joy and excitement. Everyone was happy to get freebies while admiring the beautiful art of Korea.

So, I do suggest everyone take up a foreign language today and learn a new culture. You will know more about the world. It's like acquiring a miraculous power. Foreign language is very beneficial to everyone as it can increase our intelligence. That's definitely true for me.
